FAQs

The Wedding Website of Virginia Barron and Parker Blin
Question

What should I wear?

Answer

Our wedding reception is black-tie, meaning tuxedos are appropriate for gentlemen, and floor-length gowns for ladies (spring colors and florals are encouraged!) Keep in mind that most of our events for the weekend will be hosted outdoors, weather permitting.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by March 1st, 2026 so we can plan accordingly. You can RSVP early directly through our site on the "RSVP" tab!

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We highly recommend staying at the Jekyll Island Club & Resort, which is just a short walk across the lawn from all wedding events. There is a shuttle bus that runs between Jekyll Island Club & Resort and The Ocean Club every half hour between 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. The Westin is next to the Ocean Club which would allow for convenient shuttle access as well. There are no Ubers or Lyfts on the island, so we encourage you to utilize our room block at the main clubhouse or stay nearby on Jekyll Island to ensure convenient access.

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

There is no guest parking at Crane Cottage, but there is a parking lot at the main clubhouse (Jekyll Island Club & Resort) that is just a brief (5 min) walk to our venue.

Question

What's the weather like?

Answer

Typically, early April on Jekyll Island is warm and breezy, with the potential for spring showers and cooler evenings. Temperatures during the day typically range from the 70's-low 80's.

Question

Will the wedding events be held outside?

Answer

Yes, weather permitting, we plan to host our ceremony and reception outdoors. In case of inclement weather, our backup plan will include a tented reception.

Question

Are young kids welcome at the wedding?

Answer

We truly love all of your children, but our wedding ceremony and reception will be an adult-only celebration. We hope it will be a fun evening off for those with little ones to eat, drink, and enjoy. If you're planning to bring them to Jekyll for the weekend, our venue recommends contacting Debbie Taylor (debbie@sittersbytheshore.com), who owns a highly rated professional sitter network in the area. Thank you for understanding!

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Everyone is invited to a Welcome Party on Friday evening at 8pm to kick off the weekend. This will be hosted on the Croquet Lawn outside of the Jekyll Island Club Resort. Otherwise, we hope you'll enjoy the island and feel free to book a tee time, hang by the pool, and relax ahead of Saturday evening. Check out the "things to do" tab for ideas!
