Gui and Virginia's story began about two months before they met when, ironically, they both moved to Atlanta the same weekend in 2017 to start new jobs. Just two short months later, they were introduced by a mutual friend who invited them both to attend the Roswell Beer Festival. The following week, Gui and Virginia went on their first date, and as they say, the rest is history (a great one by the way) . . .
When Gui and I met, I was completely unprepared. I thought I had things figured out. New job, new city; I definitely did not need a new man. But fate has a funny way of knowing what you need, even when you don't know yourself. On our first date, Gui was 30 minutes late picking me up. Anyone who knows me, knows that the fact that we had a second date is a miracle. We did have that second date, though, and it only took one week of having Gui in my life to text my best friend to let her know, "This boy is definitely a keeper." One short month later on May 1, 2017, I texted to update her again, telling her, "Honestly, I can see myself with him. That's crazy for me to say, OMG." But it didn't feel crazy at all, it just felt right. That is when I knew, unequivocally that Gui was "the one" for me.
Working, constantly traveling, parties and just living a single life. I had a extremely busy life when Virginia and I met, and honestly I wasn't looking for a girlfriend at the time. As we all know, things in life happen when they are supposed to and not at the exact moment that we want them to. Just like that, Virginia and I went to our first date (I was late on purpose to test her out) and everything else happened in such a natural way that just seemed right. After about a month and half together, we went to Miami, and while in the ocean talking I just felt that she was "the one" and knew at that moment that I wanted to have her in my life forever. We both know that we are not perfect, and the fact that we push each other to become a better person every day is what undoubtedly strengthened our relationship.
