Dave and I met on a dating site (and for those of you who know Dave… I know, shocking). He sent me such a thoughtful message that I immediately wanted to learn more about him. It certainly didn’t hurt that his profile featured two ridiculously adorable dogs, Syreen and Bear. We spent weeks talking on the phone before finally going on our first date—naturally, at Ale House. A few months later, we decided to really test our compatibility by taking a trip to Miami to watch the Baltimore Ravens (my team) play the Miami Dolphins (his team). Let’s just say that game was the real relationship test. I knew then that if we could survive a matchup that brutal, we could handle anything together. (My team won of course) And over the past seven years, we’ve proven that true. Through the highs and lows, the first “I love you,” a pandemic, health scares, the loss of a beloved pet, and multiple moves—we’ve faced it all side by side. Together is how we do life.
