On April 4, 2024, Kevin pulled off the biggest surprise in an elaborate proposal operation with months of planning ... and the help of some of the most special people we get to call our friends.
In her words... Kev and I met while working for the Miami Dolphins. As the legendary coach Don Shula once said, "The one thing that I know is that you win with good people." I have told him and will always tell him, he is the most extraordinary soul and beyond what I could have dreamt or prayed for, but our story is also one that would be incomplete without the not good, but great people that have surrounded and loved us in our journey. Our families formed our foundations, and through our friendships we have found love, inspiration and growth. Who would have known that before I was telling Taylor Lake at the Davie Rodeo "I feel like I need to meet a guy from the Midwest who moved here for work because I'm not sure I'm finding my person in South Florida," that Angela Robledo would be convincing Kevin Edwards of Wichita, Kansas, to apply for a role with the Dolphins video team? After getting to work with Kev at a community event for one of our players, Emmanuel Ogbah, at the Boys & Girls Club, we started talking more. I started to get to know the most genuine kindness and thoughtfulness I'd ever experienced with someone, and then he slowly let me know his equally intelligent and goofy humor. "But I think he's just being nice," I told Taylor on a soundboard walk one afternoon. Kevin finally told me he would love to get to know me better and asked me to grab coffee or a meal, but I still wasn't convinced it wasn't a networking dinner to get to know someone in another department. Fast forward after convincing from my lovely matron of honor, Evyn Zelnio, that it was indeed a date, we went to dinner at Louie Bossi’s. I asked about his best friends and without hesitation, he talked about his family. It was so clear how big his love for them is, and over the next two years, I got to know just how special that love is. We’ve become best friends and partners in this life, have found the intentionality and joy in choosing each other and will never stop dating. We’ve continued building our life and home together, becoming a party of three with our Bernedoodle, Hank, who everyone reading this has probably heard too much about at one point or another. We’ve gotten to grow into new versions of ourselves with each other and continue to grow in our capability to love and support fully. We’re so excited about where we’re at now and celebrating what is ahead with you.
