We originally met in high school through our friends and slowly got to know each other as time went on. We ended up developing a very close friendship over the span of a year and we couldn't go a day without talking to each other. Unfortunately at that time in our lives, destiny had other plans for us and we ended up parting ways. We ended up reconnecting again in 2014 and picked up right where we had left off. It was as if no time had passed between us at all! 6 months had gone by and we were spending almost every day with each other, and we became inseparable at that point. Our friendship slowly flourished into something more and before we knew it, we were both deeply in love with one another! On February 14 2015, Aman had asked me to make things official... and the rest was history!
Aman had taken me out for a very special dinner at the Calgary Tower that day and I had my suspicions that he might be proposing to me at the dinner. As the evening went on, I was becoming increasingly more anxious about the proposal and was patiently waiting for it to happen. At the end of dinner he got the cheque and asked me if I wanted to go home... I was so bummed! He saw that I was disappointed and didn't want to go home just yet so he ended up suggesting that we could go for coffee at this new place close by, so I agreed. We ended up pulling into the parking lot of Reader Rock Garden, and he told me that the cafe was at the top of the hill. It was raining out and I was very confused as to what was happening and why he would make me walk to the top of a hill in the freezing rain! As we started making our way up to the path, I saw something hanging from the trees. It was pictures of us from different milestones in our relationship and fairy lights all strung up in the trees around us. As we slowly made our way up the path, there was rose petals and hundreds and hundreds of candles along the pathway, and in the background I could hear the song "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran. I knew in this moment that it was finally happening and I could not stop crying! Aman continued to lead me up the path while wiping my tears away every couple of steps. We finally made it to the end of the pathway and there was a beautiful waterfall with a bridge and on the bridge were light up letters spelling MARRY ME. Aman got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him, and it was the easiest and fastest YES that I could have ever said!
