We met in the spring of 2010 while we were both working at Red Robin in Folsom. We had a connection almost instantly! We spent most of our free time together exploring the ins and outs of the friendship we have built for almost four years. Finally, we decided it was time to take the leap and turn our friendship into something more. One night after work, we were talking outside of Mike's car, just being our silly selves, when he leaned in and kissed me for the first time. That kiss led to our first date at Apple Hill to many concerts to falling madly in love with each other- even though I had to say "I love you" first. The past six years of dating have created some of the best memories and we can not wait to make more together as a married couple.
I proposed to Brittney on July 4, 2019. I thought I was planning a perfect surprise, but little did I know, Brittney is a professional private investigator- therefore she was always one step ahead of me and knew the proposal was going to happen soon. The day before the proposal I snuck away from work to practice with Brittney's parents what I was going to do for the big moment. Our friends and family had to spend the whole proposal day convincing her she was not getting proposed to, just to try and keep it a surprise; which ended up irritating Brittney since she thought she had it all figured out. Finally, she accepted the fact that she was not getting proposed to and let it go. Next thing she knew, she is getting taken outside for a group photo that turned into one of the greatest moments of our lives. We stood on top of the bridge in her parent's backyard encircled by some of our closest friends and family. I started off with a speech that I had practiced what felt like a thousand times before getting down on one knee asking Brittney to be my wife. I couldn't hold the tears of happiness back while trying to recite all the words I had practiced, but it didn't matter because in the end, she said YES and the rest is history.
