Martin and Jess are eloping in the Red Woods alone in a Buddhist/Catholic ceremony. Parties will be held in both of the newlyweds' home towns so that EVERYONE who loves them can attend!

This kismet pair met at a restaurant called Epiphany Farms in Bloomington, Illinois while Jess was getting her Master's degree in Anthropology and Martin was working as the head chef. Jess started serving at Martin's restaurant, and after working a few shifts together and shamelessly flirting, Jess and Martin had a date where they shared a bottle of wine and danced in Jess' living room to a Leon Bridges album. They have been inseparable ever since.

On the weekend of Jess' graduation, her parents, best friend, and Martin's parents flew to Illinois to celebrate. During brunch at the restaurant where the couple worked, Martin brought over a giant bottle of very nice champagne and glasses for everyone. Visibly shaking and clearly nervous, he got down on one knee and asked Jess to marry him. She said yes. Of course.
