Vincent was working at the Pilot gas station doing inventory in Erie, PA. Lauren just so happened to be in the store buying a water bottle and gas while running some errands. She was singing "Lights" by Journey, which was playing over the radio inside the store and Vincent's co-worker Joe pointed her out to him. One of the first things that Vincent noticed about Lauren was her smile, which made him approach her and ask for her number. They hit it off right away and started talking via text.

While living over 400 miles apart from each other, they made plans to have their first date in State College, PA which was half-way for both of them. We met at a diner and ate a late lunch early dinner. Vincent ordered a ruben with grapefruit juice to drink (who does that?!) and Lauren called him weird. That date lasted for over 13 hours and neither wanted to part with the other. It was then that they both knew that this was something special.
