Vince: I definitely didn't expect that the first day I stepped foot on Villanova's campus for freshman year that I would end up meeting my soulmate. I remember meeting Laura briefly while moving my things into my dorm. Laura lived on the third floor and I was on the first floor of St. Monica's. I remember walking back from West campus together, after our first day of Music Camp, and somehow getting lost on the "Wildcat Path." Laura: While I don't remember the exact moment I met Vince, our first encounter was at some point during our move-in to St. Monica's Hall (aka St. Mo's) the week before our freshman year. Us theatre nerds were at Villanova a week early for "Music Camp" with VSMT, Villanova Student Musical Theatre. Between workshops, walks around campus, and our first college party, I started to get to know Vince along with the rest of our VSMT freshmen. We all made fun of him for wearing his prom shirt to college. It was a great start to our friendship.
Vince: During finals week our sophomore year, Laura and I went on our first date to Sushi Land (fancy, I know). We braved the cold and walked the 1.5 miles to the restaurant. I didn't have my license yet, so I'm lucky she went along with this. I just remember being very nervous, talking like crazy, and forgetting to actually look at the menu. Laura: Luckily Vince and I both love food. That made our first date very easy. Our dark walk to Sushi Land was a little spooky since we took back roads, but absolutely worth it. From the start, Vince and I could just go on talking to each other forever, which is still a constant in our relationship. That, and food.
Vince: I had a plan. Laura had plans to do laundry. My plans were ruined. But here we are... it still worked out :) Laura: I should've known he was going to propose that day, butI didn't. I mean, I must have known deep down because I painted my nails on a whim the day before, something I hadn't done in weeks. Regardless, when he got down on one knee, I was simultaneously shocked and thrilled. But that was the easiest answer I'd ever have to give.
