Here you will find driving route recommendations through Wimberley for the weekend of the wedding, and important, need-to-know information about how the eclipse will affect your travels through the Texas Hill Country! Please note that traffic will be bad on April 6th, so please plan accordingly and try to arrive early for the wedding if possible. We would prefer to see you early than have you miss the ceremony because of traffic! Please note that because the wedding takes place only two days before the total solar eclipse on April 8th, there will be a massive influx of travelers coming into Texas to view it; the town is expecting a total of 150k visitors for the eclipse, so please be aware of this when making travel plans.

Eclipse Weekend Guide for Wimberley, Texas

Schedule Wisely: Traffic in Wimberley will likely get very busy beginning Friday, April 5, and will extend through Tuesday, April 9. Saturday, April 6, is also the Wimberley Market Day. We encourage you to avoid downtown Wimberley. Try to take routes that bring you through the north side of Wimberley, which will pass you through Fischer or Kyle. Get Groceries Early: If you can, bring plenty of snacks and beverages with you. All grocery stores are likely to be very busy. Gas Up: Fill up your gas tank in advance to avoid long lines at local gas stations. Anticipate Wireless Disruptions: Prepare for slower cell/internet service and potential issues with debit/credit cards. Consider having cash on hand. Establish a Meet-up Spot: If you are going into town, determine a spot where your group will meet if you get separated; there will be a lot of people in town. Stay Informed: Rely on KWVH 94.3FM radio for up-to-date local information.
