Travel Note
Schedule Wisely: Traffic in Wimberley will likely get very busy beginning Friday, April 5, and will extend through Tuesday, April 9. Saturday, April 6, is also the Wimberley Market Day. We encourage you to avoid downtown Wimberley. Try to take routes that bring you through the north side of Wimberley, which will pass you through Fischer or Kyle. Get Groceries Early: If you can, bring plenty of snacks and beverages with you. All grocery stores are likely to be very busy. Gas Up: Fill up your gas tank in advance to avoid long lines at local gas stations. Anticipate Wireless Disruptions: Prepare for slower cell/internet service and potential issues with debit/credit cards. Consider having cash on hand. Establish a Meet-up Spot: If you are going into town, determine a spot where your group will meet if you get separated; there will be a lot of people in town. Stay Informed: Rely on KWVH 94.3FM radio for up-to-date local information.
Travel Note
Because of the massive influx of visitors coming into Wimberley for the eclipse, hotels must be booked ASAP or there may not be any rooms available. For anyone having issues with finding hotel availability, we would encourage you to consider options like AirBnB and Vrbo for lodging. Kyle and San Marcos are the closest cities with major hotel chains.
Travel Note
Please book all rental cars ASAP in order to avoid the issue of rental companies running out of vehicles because of the eclipse.
