Desert Botanical Garden is a 140-acre botanical garden located in Papago Park and is a great morning or afternoon activity for those wanting to stick closer to the venue.
Also in the area is Hole in the Rock. Located in Papago Park, this is a landmark rock formation with a multitude of cave-like holes created by erosion. It offers plenty of cool photo opportunities with walking and hiking trails nearby!
If you are traveling out west for the first time or haven't been to Sedona before, we highly recommend exploring this beautiful city. Whether you are looking for food, drinks, shopping or outdoor adventures, Sedona has something for everyone! We highly recommend taking a Jeep tour while there. There are various intensity levels with plenty of options, from the leisurely scenic drive to the adventurous wild ride. Also, be sure to stop and see Chapel of the Holy Cross while you’re there!
Horseshoe Bend is one of the bride’s favorite spots and one of the first vacation destinations we traveled to together. Best part is it doesn't cost a thing and you are free to walk around wherever you choose. Don't forget to bring plenty of water! If you visit Horseshoe Bend, we highly recommend paying a visit to Antelope Canyon, as well (A tour is required, but definitely worth it!). They're both very close to each other and allow for a full day of adventures! On your way back to Phoenix, you can stop at the Navajo Bridge and Pariah Riffle for some amazing views. Navajo Bridge U.S. Highway 89 A, Marble Canyon, AZ 86036 Added to National Register of Historic Places in 1981 Pariah Riffle Near Lee's Ferry in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area Too small to earn the name rapid, Pariah Riffle is the first turbulence faced by boaters on their Grand Canyon River journey. It is a gorgeous area and a hidden gem we happened upon on our way home on this trip.
