There is plenty of parking on the church grounds! Our events will be held in two (2) separate buildings: the ceremony at the church and the reception in the larger activities center. Please note that there will be a gap between events for resting and freshening up!
A 9-course Vietnamese meal will be served family-style. An all-vegetarian alternative will be served to a select few tables or upon early request.
A formal photo will be taken with the bride and groom upon entrance. Once seated for dinner, the couple will greet each table ("chao ban"). Decide on one (1) person to toast the couple on behalf of your table. If you have red envelopes ("li xi") that you would like to gift to the couple, you can give them after the cheers.
Red is an auspicious, lucky color in Vietnamese culture. Red envelopes with cash are traditionally given to the couple during the reception as gifts (there are no registries in Vietnamese culture!) The giving of red envelopes is a way to symbolically bestow happiness, luck and good wishes to the couple.
We are choosing to follow the Vietnamese gifting tradition of red envelopes. As an alternative, please visit our "Registry" tab for gifting funds:)
