Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Olivia Nelson and Vince DeSantis
We can't wait for the people who mean the most to us to come together in the place that means the most to us. We've listed our tried-and-true recommendations, from sightseeing to dining, for your stay on the Central Coast. There is so much to see and do, and we hope you have an amazing visit.
Montaña de Oro State Park

Montaña de Oro State Park

Enjoy a beautiful drive along the Central Coast, and don't skip the short walk to MDO's rolling sand dunes.

Bishop's Peak

Bishop's Peak

San Luis Obispo, CA 93405

This iconic hike takes you to the top of the tallest of the Morros, also known as the "Nine Sisters" – a chain of peaks in San Luis Obispo. The trail takes you on a 4 mile round-trip. The view is well worth it!

Bob Jones Trail

Bob Jones Trail, Avila Beach, CA

This easygoing 2.5 mile trail is great for walking and biking.

Avila Valley Barn

Avila Valley Barn

560 Avila Beach Drive, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405

This sweet Central Coast gem is at its best in October, when the pumpkin patch arrives at the Barn.

Thursday Night Farmer's Market

Thursday Night Farmer's Market

If you're planning to arrive in town early, be sure to catch downtown San Luis Obispo's farmer's market on Thursday evening. There are amazing local vendors–we'd especially recommend a stop at the donut truck.

Flour House

Flour House

690 Higuera Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401

Our favorite restaurant of more than seven years – and, according to Vince, the best pizza you'll find outside of Italy. (Quite an endorsement!) Stop in for authentic Neapolitan-style pizza and pasta.

Giuseppe's Cucina Rustica

Giuseppe's Cucina Rustica

849 Monterey Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401

Hit up Giuseppe's for an amazing Italian dinner.

Sidecar

Sidecar

1040 Broad Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401

This cute cocktail bar is right downtown, and is perfect for an apertif of a nightcap.

Mr. Rick's

Mr. Rick's

404 Front Street, Avila Beach, CA 93424

This divey beachfront bar is right on Avila Beach's boardwalk. Occassionally: live music. Always: amazing Coronaritas.

Firestone Grill

Firestone Grill

1001 Higuera Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401

Firestone is a SLO staple, serving delicious central coast barbecue. Don't leave town without trying the tri-tip sandwich!

High Street

High Street

High Street, San Francisco, CA 94114

High Street Deli not only serves up the best sandwiches on the Central Coast – it's also a historic landmark in San Luis Obispo, dating back to 1927. Our go-to orders are the Turkey Pesto and Chipotle Beef sandwiches on Dutch Crunch bread, but you can't order wrong!

Lincoln Market & Deli

Lincoln Market & Deli

496 Broad Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93405

We adore Lincoln Deli, one of SLO's best sando shops. Their "Almost Famous" burrito nursed more than one hangover in our college years.

Scout Coffee Co.

Scout Coffee Co.

1130 Garden Street, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401

Pay a visit to one of Scout's locations for great coffee, pastries, and local goods.

For all the days along the way
