We eloped the first time, so this is the “surprise… now you’re invited!” edition. Thank you for joining us as we celebrate ten years of marriage, a whole lot of memories, and the love that kept growing even when there wasn’t a dance floor. We’re so happy you’re here to finally celebrate with us!

Matthew and Vanessa met in August 2015 at JBLM in Washington. By October 10, 2015, they officially started dating. A few months later, Vanessa spent her first Christmas with Matthew’s family. Not long after, Matthew left on New Year’s Eve for six months—proving early on that distance had nothing on them. When he returned in June 2016, they skipped the long engagement and eloped on June 25, 2016. No big plans, just the right decision. Marriage has taken them through Washington, Hawaii, California, and now Colorado. Along the way, they built a life that somehow revolves around Disney, Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar—and trips to Disneyland almost every single year since they’ve been married (minus 2020, though a trip was planned). In November 2023, they welcomed their son, Carter, officially leveling up to their favorite role yet. On June 25, 2025, nine years after saying “I do,” they bought their first home. Now, ten years later, they’re renewing their vows to celebrate it all—past, present, and everything still to come.
