We're Getting Married

Date your clocks back to the year 2001. While Diana had arrived the year before to New York, Juan arrived to New Jersey in 2001. Moved by the "culture shock effect", they found refuge on the world wide web. They would surf the internet webs, lol, in search of that missing piece, that longing for their birth country, Colombia. One day, while browsing through the classified adds in Radioactiva, a popular rock radio station in Bogota, Colombia, they both found an add posted by a rock band in the Tri-State area who was looking for a bassist and a female lead singer. It was strange to find a classified add catering to the Tri-State area in a Colombian web site, but in search of new friends, Diana replied to the add saying "I can sing, here's my messenger!, add me, where can I audition?" (Remember messenger? AOL, AIM?--Talk about a throwback!). Juan Camilo saw her reply to the add and asked her: "Where in the Tri-State Area are you?" What transpired after that was an exchange of messengers, phone numbers, and later on, a day and a time to meet for the first time. Let me rephrase that, a blind date, in an era of no Facebook, No Instagram, No FaceTime, no exchange of photos, not a clue of what they both physically looked like, just the beautiful and sexy tone of their voices over the phone. Juan drove 4 hours from NJ to NY to meet her. It was chemistry at first sight. A lunch at a Friendly's, a three hour talk at a Starbucks and a make-out session in a car sealed the deal... Well, not exactly... Circumstances pulled them apart, but not their friendship. Sometimes, timing is everything; When the time was right, after years and years and years apart, they met again one day at New York Penn Station. They hugged & kissed each other like no time had passed. Diana and Juan have been there for each other through thick and thin. Through births, weddings, funerals, changes in career, changes in residence, changes in jobs, maturing and growing (old) but growing together.
