Once upon a Bumble swipe... no, but really. We had our first date at a local beer garden that had a concert that night. I, per usual, was running late, so late that I showed up and the concert had already ended. Justin on the other hand kept his patience and continued to wait while enjoying beers and company from one of his soon to be groomsmen, Jeremy. The date night turned into everyone playing various yard games and hanging out. Once the night had ended, I went home and immediately called my best friend Tyler and told her that it would never work out between the two of us. He was too quiet, and I was unsure that he would be able to put up with me, but there was something about him that kept me on my toes. We continued to go on dates and got to know each other more until he asked me to be his girlfriend on 12.19.17

For a few months I had mentioned to Justin that I wanted to go back to the University of Arkansas and find my name engraved on the senior walk since graduating. I knew it was located some where on "Arkansas" street, but did not know exactly where. One weekend he asked if I wanted to go do that and take some pictures around campus followed by brunch at the Carnall Hall. That morning he left to go to the gym and I began getting ready. He called me on the way back home and told me that Tyler's sister was actually in town and would be able to take some photos of us around campus while we were there. Slightly confused by his communication with my best friend and without me knowing anything, it didn't even occur to me what he had planned. When we went to finally leave the house, I should have picked up on the fact that he was spot cleaning like crazy and he actually mopped the floors... without me even asking. We parked at the Carnall Hall and began to walk down Arkansas street where I saw Tyler, Alec and Tyler's sister Maddie waiting for us. I knew something was up the second that I saw Tyler dressed up with a big smile on her face, but I didn't think he would be crazy enough to actually propose. After we took the photo with my name, we began to walk up some stairs towards campus, when everyone stopped walking behind us and waited at the bottom. I was super confused why they did not walk with us up the stairs until I turned back around facing Justin who was on one knee! After I said yes, we all began to walk back towards the Carnall Hall when I realized that all of my close friends, family & even my brothers from CA were there to surprise me and celebrate with us. Come to find out, he asked my dad for permission months back, started picking out a ring that past November & arranged the whole thing without me ever knowing.
