Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

As much as we love your kids, we would like our wedding to be your night off! Hopefully you can enjoy the evening with some drinks and friends!

Question

What shall I expect?

Answer

Breaking a plate - The tradition should represent the end of "single" life and bring luck to the new beginnings since it is believed that shards bring luck. The bride and groom then work together to clean the shards up. Čepčenie - This ceremonial ritual consists of taking a floral headdress off the bride and follows with placing a traditional bonnet (čepiec) on the bride’s head. Guests do not participate directly in the ceremony. The ritual is followed by "Redový tanec", the dance where all guests dance with the bride either individually or in small groups. Each guest usually pays for the dance, however, they receive a small "thank you" gift after the dance.

Question

What are the gift-giving customs?

Answer

We do not have a wedding registry if that's what you're asking for, since your presence is a gift itself! However, in case you still want to give us something there will be a chance right after the ceremony or at the venue.

Question

How can we get to the venue?

Answer

The best option is always to walk. You can get anywhere by walking! The church and the reception venue are distant 500m (6 minutes). But really, in case you're staying downtown, walking is your option. Otherwise you can take a public transport or use taxi (e.g. local taxi companies or Bolt).
