*Our Special Day*

When worlds apart intersect and lives are never the same again. In late August 2021 our worlds intersected. A "I'll give this guy a chance. But would he please make up his mind!” first date quickly became more. We ate Italian food and talked for over 5 hours about life, family, living in foreign countries, faith, and politics, there was a quiet excitement in each of our minds that we maybe kinda liked each other. Vikram, who was born and raised on the eastern coast of India and Rachel, a born and bread Texan had more in common than they had experienced in several years, (no lets be real DECADES!) of dating. Both have grown in a deep love and passion to know God more from across the globe and through life's experiences. Feeling like this is probably too good to be true, they sent out for appetizers a couple nights later and to watch the sun set, this quickly moved to spending the whole day together and meeting the first love of Rachel's life Lil'Anne. After she let Vikram pet her the first time they met, to say I was intrigued is to say I maybe thought this guy might, maybe, be a keeper. Vikram scheduled a date and rescheduled 5 times before deciding on a spot and changing the spot after picking up Rachel. It went from Indian to Italian food, but to be fair the flags of both countries have the same colors.

Soon after their first date, the couple started talking regularly and over a short time it became obvious they were made for each other and Vikram proposed to Rachel on October 15th, 2021 at the Le Meridian in Denver. They sat by a fireplace in the middle of the lobby at Le Meridian waiting to to go up to the highest open air bar in Denver, CO called 54thirty Rooftop. It was a frigid night and Rachel said she wanted coffee. Vikram stood up, got coffee and quietly checked the proposal card in his pocket to make sure it was not bent or crumpled. After finishing the coffee Vikram stood up, walked over to return the coffee cups, sat down again and handed Rachel the proposal card. She read through and was literally stunned to read the last line that said, "Will you marry me?!" The next moment her face lit up, she was so happy and emotional and she said, "Yes!" Vikram was overjoyed and told Rachel how she "completes him" as a person.
