Brianna’s Version

It all started on a girls' night one of those carefree, unplanned evenings that you never expect to change your life. We kicked it off at an NMSU tailgate, passing around a couple of BeatBoxes, laughing way too loud, and having no idea what the night would bring. I definitely wasn’t expecting to meet the love of my life. Later that night we were at Whiskey Dicks, and somehow, I managed to lose my friends in the crowd. I was wandering around, trying to find them, thinking maybe they wanted to leave and were waiting outside I was heading toward the exit when everything changed. Out of nowhere, I finally spotted them and at the exact same time, this guy named Jake asked me to dance. Before I could say anything, my friend Addy literally pushed me into him and said, “Yes, she wants to dance!” (Thanks, Addy.) So we danced and while we were talking, I found out something crazy: Jake already knew who I was. Apparently, we had worked together before, but I had no idea. We ended up dancing the entire night. Yes, I may have grabbed his butt once and yes, it was in front of all his friends (no regrets). When it was time to leave, I refused to give him my number. So I gave him my Snapchat instead thinking I was being slick. But he was persistent. He kept trying to hang out, and I kept saying I couldn’t. Finally told him I had church the next day… and he hit me with:
“I’ll meet you at church.” That was it. From that one night, we’ve been inseparable ever since. And now, I get to call him my fiancé. I can’t wait to see where life takes us whether it’s another Cruces football game, another windy day at baseball , or just more memories that start out as nothing and turn into everything.

It was a fresh November night, November 4th 2023 to be exact for me it was just another night at whiskeys doing my thing dancing and having fun with my cousin Mikey. I remember standing at the bar just looking around and I see this girl who I recognized from the elementary school I worked at and I thought to myself no way that’s her I remember seeing her at work and thinking how beautiful she was and how every time I looked at her my heart would start pounding out of my chest and now I see her at the bar where I could have an opportunity to talk to her maybe even dance with her. As the night went on I was hesitant to ask her to dance and I told my cousin who she was and how bad I wanted to dance with her and he told me you better hurry up and go do it, and yet I still didn’t ask her yet!! Finally there was a point in time where I told myself next song I’m gonna go up to her and dance with her no matter what, as soon as I heard fast car by Luke combs I knew I had to take my chance and ask her to dance and from my point of view it looked like she was headed towards the exit with her friends so I speed walk to her cutting her and her friends off and asking her to dance with some help from her friends I finally got my chance to dance with her. As soon as we hit the floor I asked her what her name was, as soon as she told me I knew it was that teacher from Loma heights. I knew from that first dance that I wanted to dance with her for the rest of my life the comfort and happiness was something I’ve never felt ever I knew from that day on I wanted to marry her and spend the rest of my life with her.
