If you'd told me back in 2014 that a simple "hello" would ignite something so profound, I might’ve probably doubted. Yet, here we are, years later, and I still recall that day like it was yesterday. It all started at a FECA Warri meeting. Vicki had just completed secondary school at FGC Warri. After the meeting, she was saying her goodbyes, getting ready to slip away—but somehow, I found myself walking up to her. It was her first time at FECA, and as a passionate “brother,” I felt compelled to check in on this new “sister” joining our fellowship. Remember the scripture: “…he who wins a soul is wise.” Little did we know, that quiet exchange would mark the humble beginning of something extraordinary. After that first meeting, our “keeping in touch” was, let’s say… sporadic—just two texts a year, one on each other’s birthdays. It sounds odd now, but life has a way of weaving threads together in unexpected ways. We were meant for more and destiny was simply waiting for the right time to reveal the full picture. Then came 2020—the year when everything shifted. We had both completed our bachelor’s degrees and national service (NYSC), and interestingly Vicki already started attending my church in Warri; Heritage Assembly. Slowly, what had once been brief, twice-a-year greetings turned into weekly catch-ups. Our friendship began to blossom, like it had been waiting for its moment all along. But it wasn’t until my Master’s program took me to the UK in 2021 that I realized the full weight of what I felt for her. Distance only made my heart grow fonder. By this time, I already developed convictions about Vicki. I didn’t just want her as a friend—I wanted to do life with her forever. She is the chosen one! What a blessed assurance. Thank God for the Holy Spirit. I called her and laid it all out. Vicki wasn’t sure she was ready for a romantic relationship, but love came for her anyways. True to her thoughtful nature, she asked me to speak with her mentors and family before giving me an answer. When she finally made her decision, I was honored to have a room in her heart. Not long after, I’d built a home there—and became the proud landlord of her heart. The past two years together have been nothing short of incredible. We’ve grown individually, sharing moments of joy, overcoming challenges, and cheering each other on. When she received the life-changing news of a Master’s scholarship to join me in the UK, I knew without a doubt—I was going to marry her as soon as she finished her studies. And now, here we are, ready to take that step. I could hardly believe it—the girl I had exchanged a few birthday wishes with over the years was now the one person I couldn’t wait to talk to every single day. From borrowed moments to steady friendship, and now, with her saying “yes” to forever, it feels like everything fell into place just when it was supposed to. I can’t wait to see what the future holds, because I know that with her by my side, each day will be a new adventure in love—one I never knew I was missing until she came into my life. A lifetime with Vicki? It’s the dream I’m living, and I’m endlessly grateful for it.

David’s meals are delicious, no doubt. I’m doing my best to keep up, so let’s call it a tasty tie. 😊
Without question, its David. I’ve tried a few times but somehow, he always wins. His affectionate texts, surprise gifts, lovely dates and many more, are one for the books!
We enjoy praying together daily and its the secret sauce behind the blessings manifesting in our lives.
I have. I wasn’t interested in football games until David made me an Arsenal fan, but I still don’t know any Arsenal player by heart 🙃
