How we met (from his point of view)

We first met in Sunday school, kind of. It was my first day in a new church. I was introduced to everyone else in the high school age Sunday school. it was a big class and I did not catch anything but her name ( not even the spelling). After church, we pass each other in the hall. I tried to greet her, but she was deep in conversation with another person and did not notice me. I had to press myself into the wall just to stop from getting trampled! After that, she went back to college (which was a few hours away). We only ran into each other during her school breaks (we actually talked a few times without me getting trampled!). I thought she was cute, but I really only thought of her like an acquaintance, someone you say hi to when you pass, but that is it. The following summer I was at scout camp with her brother. She had come for family night to visit him (with her family of course). I was sitting with them talking. it was pleasant. towards the end of the night, I said a lame joke, I hardly remember what I said, but she laughed. What a laugh it was. It was the most wonderful thing I have ever heard. her eyes shone with such pure and wonderful light. At that time I knew she was truly someone amazing. After that, we talked almost every night for hours and hours. she instantly became the person I trusted and relied on the most. she became my best friend.

How he proposed

A week before Thomas came to Slidell with me my phone broke. One day I borrowed his phone & after using it, I just scrolled through the unknown messages wondering how he knows who is who - he never saved people's names - when I saw the name Sister Jackson. Who's this I wondered until I saw the last message view "morganite and rose gold look great together." I put the phone aside realizing there's a Sister Jackson in Slidell with a jewelry shop. My mind starts racing how Thomas is planning on buying a ring, probably the next week. I decide to tell him about the message at lunch. He starts blurting out his entire proposal plans of the lake, New Orleans & gives me all the details. All I knew is he was looking at rings so he says he won't propose for a while to keep it a surprise. When he picks up the ring, he tells me that it wasn't ready yet & we'll have to stop by before heading back to school. Day before we leave - he asks to go get ice cream & we drive to olde town only to find that the soda shop is closed. Then he asks if we can go to the mall. Sure, why not. As soon as we walk in the door to the mall (he is wearing is long trench coat - the one he always wore when we first started hanging out), I get a feeling he is going to propose but brush it off. We walk around & eat pretzels on a bench. After that we took our usual photos in our preferred photo booth. When we finished, he asked if we could just sit and talk. He told me how much he loved me & said let's take one more. As it counted down the first picture he said, "I know you wanted pictures," kissed my cheek & got down on one knee in the photo booth & asked if I would marry him. Honestly even though I expected it, it still took me off guard & I kinda froze. About picture three he told me I had to at least say something. I nodded, whispered yes, & he put the ring on my finger. Before we left the photo booth that night, we took the first picture of the ring on my hand. He is amazingly dorky and perfect for me
