We officially met at the youth ministry at our church when we were both 17-year-old high school seniors. We later found out that we had both been each other’s “Instagram crush” for quite some time before meeting. I was very active in the youth ministry and I would often post our weekly meetings and events on Instagram. One day I noticed that my Instagram Crush was at church! I was so nervous, and I wondered if he would ever approach me. Finally, the day came! After one service while I was cleaning up and the music was still blaring, Kamani walked up to me, asked me how I was doing, and then, I could have sworn he asked, “Do you want to text?” Me, being ecstatic that he was finally asking me for my number, blurted out “YES!” … then he just said “okay” and walked away. “Wait a minute!” I thought to myself, “how is he going to text me without getting my number? This boy is playing games!” Later that week I received a screenshot from my best friend Aljata that cleared everything up. He had contacted her on a popular texting app called “Kik”, he asked her if I understood what he was saying after church. He actually asked, “Do you have a Kik?” When she told me what happened, I logged into my Kik account, and our forever started there! This is, of course, the Bride’s version of the of story. You’ll have to come to the wedding to hear Mr. Jones’ version.
