We are getting meowied!

We met online through a dating website called Tinder. We were both new to it but that didn't stop us from finding each other on there. We messaged each other for a while and then I asked if we could meet in person. I remember that night because I had told my mom I was going to meet some friends for a late dinner but in reality, I messaged Lane earlier in the day if we could go on a date. He texted "I am here", so I said bye to my mom and walked to the empty, dark-lit eddies parking lot down the street from where I live. I was approaching the car when he came out with roses to give to me and opened my door for me. It was like something straight out of a movie. I got in and thanked him and then he gave me the roses and then proceeded to get in the driver's seat. Mind you I was nervous and I like to think he was too. We both agreed to go to Serentos Italian Restaurant for our first date and when we got there it was nice. He made up the majority of the conversation that night because I was just so nervous to talk to him. He is the most handsome man I had ever seen. He asked a lot of hypothetical questions like, "If you were a dinosaur which one would you be", and other cute questions like that. While sitting down the waiter came over and refilled our water from this weird-looking old wine bottle, I remember we both looked at each other because who keeps water in an old wine bottle? The night went on and I honestly didn't want to leave. We got in the car and while we were putting on our seatbelts I said " So what's next"? He looked at me puzzled, this was all he had planned for the night. He then suggested that he and his friends sometimes go to Walmart and play with all the toys in the aisle. I eagerly agreed to go there. We walked in and immediately were playing sword battles with lightsabers and other toys. We then walked around a bit more and then had to leave as it was getting late. Once we got home I remember asking him, if I could kiss him. He said, "Yes" and I kissed him. I went home that night filled with so much happiness and excitement that this could be the start of something I have always wanted. Many years later look at us now with two cat babies between us. I will forever cherish our origin story and will forever cherish the man I played swords with all those years ago because the best stories are the ones we didn't expect.
