we're getting married!

Zach and Vicki met through mutual friends. One night, Vicki's friend Meggy, whom she worked with at the time at Big Whiskey's, invited her to The Roost for drinks as her boyfriend at the time was there with his roommate, who happened to be Zach. Zach thought Vicki's smile and contagious laugh was irresistible and he just had to get to know her more after that night. Vicki made a comment to Meggy about how cute and sweet she thought Zach was. A couple nights later, Meggy made sure Vicki and Zach would meet again; Zach ended up asking for Vicki's number and the rest is history.

Zach and Vicki met back at the end of 2015. Zach was finishing up his Senior Year at Missouri State University and Vicki was managing a bar and restaurant in Springfield, MO - the one and only Big Whiskey's. A year later, Zach graduated and Vicki decided to take on a bigger career in Kansas City, MO and moved in with her friend Tori. They did long distance for a year until Zach decided it was time for him to make the move as well, and they moved into their first apartment together, near the Westport/Plaza area. Vicki landed a job at Abbott Rapid Diagnostics, where she works as a Product Owner still to date, and Zach is a Logistics Carrier Sales Major Rep at World Wide Express. After 2.5 years in their 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment, they decided it was time to search for a home. They were lucky enough to land a beautiful 3 bedroom 2.5 bath house in Shawnee, KS, that they closed on right before the Pandemic hit. Talk about timing! They currently still reside at this house with now 2 Boston Terriers, Tatum (2) and Queso (1), their pride and joy! Their favorite things to do together is cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium, play golf, tennis, and volleyball, and spending time with their pups at home. They are looking forward to all of the fun adventures to come and to spending the rest of their lives creating only the best memories together!

Zach and Vicki go on an annual trip to Dallas, Texas to visit Vicki's best college friends. Well, the weekend of September 17th, 2021 was one they will never forget. Vicki's two friends who live in Dallas, both had "to work" the Friday of their visit for a short period, so Zach and Vicki got to plan their own outing for the day, exploring the city. They were then to meet back up with her friends at a new rooftop bar for cocktails and beautiful views. Little did Vicki know, Zach had her friends and a photographer hiding towards the back of the rooftop, where he got to hold her hand, walk her to the corner to look over the city, state his feelings towards her, and get down on one knee. Vicki was in complete shock and immediate tears came rushing down her face. She said yes, her friends came popping out of the corner, and they got to all celebrate with champagne! They were then surprised by her friends re-packing her suitcase and renting out a beautiful Airbnb for all of them to continue the celebration for the rest of the weekend. It is a weekend they will never forget. Not to mention it's also Patrick Mahomes's Birthday ;) #GoChiefs
