We both were trying out the dating app Bumble believe it or not. Neither of us expected it to actually work, but we both had come out of some pretty terrible relationships and gave it a go. I just wanted someone to take me out to a nice dinner, and I'm not sure what Sean was hoping for, but I'm thinking it was probably not a wife! After talking for a bit, we met up at the puppy store and played with Golden Retrievers for more than an hour before Sean invited me to my favorite restaurant for dinner. We talked for a long time and that entire date lasted around six hours before Sean asked me to see a movie with him the next night. Neither of us have had a second date the day after our first, but it obviously went well because BOOM! Here we are getting hitched!
Sean is an Operations Specialist in the United States Navy. He has served for 7 years as an enlisted sailor and is also in college. He intends to complete his degree in Civil Engineering to become a Surface Warfare Officer. He is absolutely incredible and a very hard worker. He has an incredible family, and is very close to them although they live far away. Some of his hobbies include working out, doing projects around the house, playing video games, and watching TV.
Victoria is a Program Assistant at Old Dominion University's Military Connection Center. She is also currently working on her Master's Degree in Higher Education Leadership and Administration and hopes to continue working in higher education throughout her career. Like Sean, she is also a very hard worker. Victoria is also very close with her family as they live very close to one another and are lucky enough to spend time together quite often. Some of her hobbies include baking, decorating, cleaning, cooking, and home projects.
The original plan for the proposal was to go to an escape room and have the ring as the final part of the puzzle. We love escape rooms (there are two photos of us doing escape rooms in the "Photos" section of our website to prove it), so this would have been so much fun. However, when the pandemic hit, we obviously could not go anywhere, so Sean set up a scavenger hunt in the only place we could go- our house! When Victoria got up on April 30, 2020, she went to go get her morning coffee and found the first clue. Riddles made her go all over the house before she found the ring in her jewelry box, and Sean asked her to marry him. The amount of effort that went into making this proposal special despite the circumstances is priceless.
