How we met

September 5th, 2020

Both Ritt and Victoria were fortunate enough to have such amazing friends and family who care deeply about them. This was evident in the beginning of their relationship. Ritt's mom, and Victoria's friend Lisa, set the pair up at the end of August 2020. Their first date was in Manayunk, where Ritt lived with his roommate. The pandemic was in full swing at the time, and Victoria was also nursing a stress fracture causing her to hobble through the streets of Manayunk in a walking boot. Both Victoria and Ritt were nervous, especially with Covid precautions in effect. However, they hit it off right away! The talking was easy and they both laughed when they chose the same meal to order: the "gringo" tacos and some margaritas! From there, Ritt asked Victoria to go on another date two days later....and from that point they were inseparable!

Proposal

July 31st, 2021

On July 1st, Ritt went with Victoria's sister Angela and his mom Tina to pick out an engagement ring. He let it slip shortly after that he had gotten Victoria the ring, but said it would take 2-3 months to be ready when really it was scheduled for only a few weeks. Three weeks came and went and the ring finally arrived. Early in the week, before that Saturday when he proposed, he casually asked if Victoria would like to go to Manayunk for the weekend. This, of course, was the site of their first date and Victoria, none-the-wiser, said "okay!" The two lovebirds got lunch on Main Street and then decided to go for a walk on the canal path and head down to an area where the dam creates a beautiful waterfall. Victoria had loved this spot and always talked about going back there, so Ritt thought it was the perfect place to propose. The couple looked at the view - Ritt was looking back and forth to make sure they were alone on the path - it was then that Ritt started to say how much Victoria meant to him. He explained his desire to spend many more years together. Victoria still didn't get the hint, until Ritt rummaged in his pocket and dropped to one knee to ask her to marry him. She enthusiastically said yes, and spent the next twenty minutes alternating between tears of happiness, jumping for joy and dancing around. The moment was perfect, the weather was spectacular, and the feeling of peace and divine intervention could be felt near and far.
