We first met after we both "swiped right" on a popular dating app when Patrick was home for winter break. We immediately hit it off, texting daily while we both returned to school. Fast forward a month, and Patrick is back in town for a long weekend to visit his brother, Joe, at UNH, and we made plans to meet for the first time! Joe claimed to be "sick," but Patrick still drove into Epping to see "The 15:17 to Paris" (a terrible movie, which I talked through the whole time). We quickly learned that a movie does NOT make a good first date, and agreed to have a do-over the next night. I showed him around the local beaches, while Patrick provided the soundtrack. We spent all night together talking on the beach and getting to know each other, and the rest is history!

I am not someone who is easily surprised, and Patrick knew he had to think of a way to propose without me figuring it out. After a Coast Guard ball, we started heading back to Patrick's car, reminiscing on the night together and excited to go home and relax. I started to walk ahead when I heard Patrick call out to me. When I turned around, he was down on one knee, asking to spend the rest of our lives together. After a couple of "Are you being serious?" I said yes, and we were engaged!
