There are parks, restaurants, a lovely place to walk around, get a cocktail or ice cream. Take a ride up the Gondola to the Sundeck where Victoria & Paschal spend many afternoons. Paradise bakery for pastries & ice cream, their lemonade is also delightful! Nearly every restaurant is delicious, book a reservation in advance if possible for dinners. It is a small town & books up quickly. Check out Kemosabe & try on a western hat or boots! You'll fit right in.
Aspen: Easy: The Rio Grande is flat & remarkably beautiful. Mild & beautiful: Hunter Creek, the trail head is 255 S Hunter St, by Hunter Creek condominiums along the fence. (Victoria's favorite view is along one of the bridges with the raging water below & Aspen Mtn framed by the trees- text her a picture- you'll know the spot when you find it) Medium with views of town & the surrounding mountains: Smuggler, trail head is 401 Co Rd 21, there are some parking spots and a stretch of road to start the hike. Keep going to the viewing deck & snap a pic for the couple Fun fact! Hunter Creek & Smuggler connect, begin with Hunter Creek & end with Smuggler if you're interested in a longer walk. Hard & steep with unparalleled Aspen View: This hike will get your heart pounding, forehead sweaty & the switch backs will make you wish you didn't have that rosé at lunch (just joking don't do that, drink water lol) It is short & steep! Trailhead is on Ute ave, there is parking across the street.
Basalt is a great little town for walking & restaurants. The Roaring fork river runs through it. We recommend the Tipsy Trout for lunch outside on the terrace and dinner at Free Range (make a reservation a head of time).
Check out the Rodeo, Summer Fridays- the street closes & you can enjoy food & drinks outdoors. The River Valley Ranch Golf course is incredible & you have views of Mt Sopris, it is a public course, reserve your tee time online or call the pro shop. Prince Creek is an excellent bike trail! There are many hiking trails nearby, the couple is still exploring this area but did take a 23 mi roundtrip hike to Avalanche lake. Some of our guests have experienced the beauty there!
Want to experience the bride's favorite adrenaline rush?? Check out Snowmass downhill bike park! You need full mountain biking gear but you can rent everything at the base. Please be safe & don't crash before the wedding, look ahead on the turns and lean back on the jumps & ramps!
This is the downtown area where the Bride & Groom live, the Element is based here. They have Thursday street fairs, great restaurants & Crown Mtn park where Murphy plays with his doggo friends every day. Crown Mtn park also has public access to a Mtn bike terrain park and surrounding trails, tennis courts, basketball courts & picnic tables. Bring your own gear! You can stop by Whole Foods or City market for your picnic supplies. Four dogs is great for wine/liquor needs.
