Nick and Victoria met at Old Dominion University through Karley, one of Victoria’s sorority sisters who was dating Nick’s roommate, Jake. Nick was interested in Victoria, and told Karley he wanted to go to his Fraternity formal with her. Days later, Karley asked Victoria if she wanted to go to formal with her and be Nick’s date. Victoria was a senior in college and wasn’t looking to date anyone, but it was free food and a fun night with her sorority sisters so she accepted the offer. That weekend, Victoria was going to the Ocean view Saint Patrick’s day event with her roommates and Nick happened to be going with the group of guys they were going with. That day they finally had the chance to talk, and they both found it easy and comfortable as if they had known each other all their lives. A week later Nick finally asked Victoria if he could take her out. Victoria was nervous to go on a real date, not having been on many of those since they were in college. When Nick came to pick her up, Victoria walked outside to see him standing by the car with the door opened for her. Victoria was impressed by this gesture but she continued to supress her feelings and convince herself that this was just some guy. Little did Victoria know that on that night, her and Nick would get into conversations about life, family, goals, and what they wanted in each of their futures. Nick was different. He was a man that loved the Lord, was kind, and had a good heart. A man that had goals, aspirations, and was intelligent. A man who listened intently to what she shared with him and actually cared. When dinner was over, the two were not ready to say goodnight so they took a walk downtown and continued to get to know each other. After that first date, the rest is history.
Nick planned a surprise proposal for Victoria while she was on vacation visiting her best friend Jenny. Victoria came home on a Thursday, and that Friday her friends told her they planned a girls night at the Grain in Norfolk, Virginia. Victoria’s friend Rebecca offered to come and pick her up, which they normally do when they go out. Rebecca was acting calm and casual, so Victoria had no inkling that anything was going on. When they got to their destination, their other friends met downstairs before they all took an elevator to the upstairs restaurant. Once they were on the outdoor rooftop bar, Victoria noticed her friend Karley with her professional camera ready to take photos, and she immediately knew what was happening. By the time she noticed Nick walking towards her, she was sobbing. Nick guided Victoria to the edge of the rooftop overlooking the water, got down on one knee, and asked her to spend forever with him. Immediately following they celebrated with many close friends who Victoria and Nick are so grateful were able to share the moment with. Both Nick and Victoria are so excited to continue living their lives together in love and faith, and to finally do so as husband and wife.
