The Sandia Peak Tramway is a 2.7-mile aerial tram near Albuquerque, NM, that transports visitors from a base elevation of 6,559 ft to the 10,378-foot crest of Sandia Peak in about 15 minutes, offering panoramic views of 11,000 square miles and access to hiking trails, forests, and the TEN 3 restaurant. Key Features & Experience The Ride: A scenic 15-minute ascent and descent, with two cars (50 passengers each) traveling opposite directions, offering unique perspectives of the Sandia Mountains and the Rio Grande Valley. The View: Sweeping views of Albuquerque and the surrounding landscape, spanning roughly 11,000 square miles. At the Top: Access to numerous hiking trails through fir and aspen forests, the TEN 3 restaurant for dining, and a gift shop. Temperature Difference: Expect temperatures to be 15-30 degrees cooler at the peak, so light jackets are recommended.
