We're Getting married

The first time I saw Mike was before we started college. I saw him at the Rutgers placement testing day, where high school seniors take tests to determine what classes to start in during the fall semester. During the lunch break, I sat on a bench across from Mike. I remember wondering if we'd ever meet in college. We were placed in dorms near each other freshman year, and had a similar class schedule. I would see him a few times a week, on the same bus, going to class. We never spoke during freshman year, but the first weekend of sophomore year, we both happened to be walking to the same gathering. I took this opportunity to shout "I know you!" at Mike, and proceeded to tell him how I'd recognized him from placement testing day. He didn't believe me at first, but I was able to recount what he was wearing on that day. I'm still surprised he didn't decide to leave the conversation at that point. Over the next several months, we got to know each other during trips to the beach, football games, fraternity date nights, and trips to Chipotle. During our junior year of college, we began officially dating. Throughout the past 7 years, we graduated from Rutgers together in 2016, I started working as a nurse and currently work in an ICU, Mike has completed Dental School, and a Dental Residency, and we have raised two cats together- Butterscotch and Charlie.
