Transportation Tips

Car Rental: Renting a car is highly recommended for flexibility and ease of exploring. There are limited public transport options. If you want to rent a car consider using Discover Cars (www.discovercars.com) to book or book through the following providers: Avis, Hertz, Budget Car, Europcar, & First Car Rental. Download Uber or Bolt: It’s the best way to travel safely if you are not using your own car. It is recommended to use card payment as your payment method and to add this to the app before arriving in South Africa to avoid any issues. (Tip: For data questions look at FAQs) Driving Tips: South Africa drives on the left side. Major routes are semi well-maintained in the cities and are easy to navigate but be cautious when driving at night and in more rural areas (watch out for potholes at all times!)
