"As an undergrad at UTD, I frequently went to the gym to workout and destress. One particular evening, I walked into the gym and saw a beautiful woman who I now proudly call my fiancée. After a series of workouts and occasional glances in her direction, I debated approaching her. It was the calm before the storm we now refer to as the COVID-19 pandemic, and the thought of a lonely period of isolation most assuredly made my decision for me. What I said to get her number was not important, because five amazing years later, we are getting married and about to start the rest of our lives together. The irony isn't lost on us: we met in a gym, yet the pandemic that forced us behind masks was when I truly got to see her." - Jason "His first few words to me were “Do you have a twin?” (he was referring to my older sister). I laughed and replied with a definite “no”. He followed up with, “Are you sure?” I thought to myself, I think I’d know if my sister and I were twins and at that point, I realized he was just trying to make conversation. Even though I had seen him around school before, I had no idea that a simple exchange would be the beginning of a long lasting love and friendship. Looking back on our journey from that day to now, we’ve supported each other through different stages of life- getting through college, transitioning into corporate life, and eventually moving across the state for graduate school. I can truly say that I’m thankful to God for bringing us together and excited for what’s ahead". -Victoria
