Our good friend Breonna Sattre was Victoria's roommate at OSU their freshman year of college. Breonna invited Victoria to go up to her hometown of Ponca City for the weekend to enjoy some Christmas time festivities. They first went to church together at First Baptist and met up with a few of Breonna's friends. Before church began, James decided to sit down next to Victoria in the pew. After church, they all decided to go get breakfast at Garrett Wrangler's and then hang out at a friend's house. This is where James and Victoria hit it off!

After talking and getting to know each other for a few weeks, James decided to ask Victoria out on a date once they both got back to OSU for the spring semester. In typical James' fashion, he decided to surprise Victoria by taking her up to a good friend's, Nick Liegerot, barn and teach her gun safety and how to shoot a gun. Afterwards, they watched the sunset together and the rest is history!

After 5 years together and the confirmation that Victoria was finally moving back to Ponca City from New Orleans, James decided it was time to propose. James planned for weeks with both sides of the family to make sure the engagement was picture perfect! James and the Bauer Family took Victoria to the Dallas Arboretum, one of her favorite places, to enjoy the beautiful day. Little did she know that James would surprise her and get down on one knee to propose in front of the beautiful fountain! Victoria was also surprised to see both James' immediate family and her brother/sister-in-law had come to celebrate too. Both families enjoyed a delicious celebratory dinner at the Bauer House and rang in the new year together. What an amazing way to start 2022!
