James told me he wanted to go on a date while I was in town to go to dinner and the movies, and maybe "our" park. We got dressed up kinda fancy. He showed up to my doorstep with gorgeous flowers. Then we drove over to the park where we first held hands and kissed. It was kinda cold outside so I had my coat on and he had a dress coat on. We went for a walk and sat down at the bench where he first held my hand, also where he decided to steal my shoes around two years ago. After awhile it was starting to get really cold so we started to head back to the car. He was walking behind me and would flip the hood to my coat up and id turn around with a confused look, and he acted so innocent, and I would put my hood down again. We went through that process a couple times until one time when I turned around he was down on one knee. I couldn't stop grinning. It felt like a movie when he said he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me and asked me to marry him.
We have known each other since February of 2019. He was living in Rexburg, Idaho and I was living in South Jordan, Utah. We had a mutual friend who introduced us over snapchat. We hit it off as friends and would hang out when he was in Utah. The first time I met him in person was a week or two after I was introduced to him. He had a ballroom dance competition in Salt Lake City, about 30-40 minutes from where I was living. I convinced my dad to drive me over and grab McDonalds on the way. I sat in the foyer and he send one of his friends out and they collected the food. Awhile later he came over with money to pay me back and told me some cheesy joke that I laughed at. It overall was like 10 seconds.
We have been in a long distance friendship to relationship since we have known each other. First time we met was February 2019. He visited Utah a couple more times and we decided we liked each other and started dating and saw each other at least once a month for the rest of the year. In 2020 we had a bit of a rough start, and decided to take a break from each other. Long distance was to hard for us as well as different stages of growing up. During that time he graduated High School and I decided to apply to a trade school in Montana. I did miss my best friend while we were apart and asked if I could visit on my way to school, since he was living 15 minutes off my drive up. We talked and caught up. A month or so later while he was trying to figure out what to do he came and visited me while I was at school. We explored a little bit of the town and decided to give the relationship another go. Now 6 months later he has asked me to marry him and I couldn't be happier.
