In March of 2023, Ethan and Victoria went to a church retreat not knowing one another. Neither of them wanted to go initially, but both decided to sign up at the last minute. The first night at the retreat the only available seat for Ethan to sit at in the large auditorium was the seat open right next to Victoria. The rest of that weekend they spent time together getting to know one another at different events while building their relationship stronger with God at the same time. The weeks to follow, Ethan started going to Victoria's church. They spent their Sundays together, sometimes 13-hour days, intentionally getting to know one another. On May 29th of 2023, Ethan asked Victoria to be his girlfriend and she said yes! Their dates together were specifically spent talking about what they wanted in their future in marriage, starting a family, career paths, and how they wanted to grow more as Christians in their faith together. The next few months into dating, they spent their time taking a marriage course together, supporting Ethan getting baptized, spending time with their families, and growing together in deepening their relationship. Little did Victoria know that Ethan bought her ring three months into dating. On October 13th of 2023 after going out to dinner, Victoria and Ethan went back to his house and Ethan proposed! He bought a star and named it, "Will You Marry Me?" He printed out the certificate and had it on display for her to see as he got down on one knee. She said "Yes!!" In their planning on becoming Mr. and Mrs. Handschuh, both Ethan and Victoria decided that they wanted a simple and small wedding within Greensboro with their immediate family. They are super excited to share this news with their friends and family in the newest chapter of their life! The number one goal of their wedding is to show their family in the public declaration of their marriage that they are coming together in unity with God. Ethan and Victoria are giving it all back to God with Him blessing them in their walk together!
