Our Story

How We Met While Drew and Victoria knew each other through mutual friends since sophmore year of high school, it was not until senior year while co-leading a youth leadership group that the couple really began talking. On the day that kickstarted things, the mutual friends who were also leaders did not show up, forcing Drew and Victoria to work together. In hearing about one of the younger student’s boy problems, Victoria made a joke that “Drew’s single”. When he responded with “as of yesterday!”, you could say that broke the ice. Over the coming weeks, dates to Sawnee mountain and Oaks miniature golf solidified the relationship. The Middle Following graduation from high school (and Victoria’s Disney trip that was more important than Drew’s graduation), the couple went opposite directions, Victoria attending the University of North Georgia and Drew attending Georgia Tech. However, the distance only made the heart grow fonder. The next three years were filled with frequent trips to Dahlonega and Atlanta, Fraternity formals, and summers on the lake. Outside of the fun weekend trips, the Lord was working change into the hearts of both Drew and Victoria, not only drawing them closer to him, but each other as well. The distance, and plenty of mistakes, taught Drew and Victoria how to love each other better than either one thought imaginable. By the time Victoria graduated in May of 2022, and Drew was on the road for an internship in Seattle, they both felt something big was in the works… The Proposal Victoria used a couple weeks of her post-graduation time off to visit Drew in Seattle and go on a Pacific Northwest road trip with her brother. On the weekend before she left, Drew planned a weekend trip to the San Juan Islands off the coast of Washington. On June 11th, after a day of exploring the historic forts, playing bocce ball, and visiting the alpaca and lavender farms, a private whale watching tour on a sailboat awaited them. Bald eagles and two pods of Orcas welcomed the couple onto the water before Drew felt the time was right to ask the love of his life to spend the rest of her life with him. Sailing back to the island at sunset with a ring on her finger is certainly a trip Victoria will never forget. The next day, Victoria flew back to Atlanta, and Drew stayed in Seattle for 2 more months, but no distance is too great for this couple.
