We’re planning 2–3 complimentary group shuttles from San José Airport (SJO) to Arenal/La Fortuna on April 8th, 9th, and 10th and back on April 12th and 13th. To help us properly book these shuttles, we need to know as soon as possible if you plan to join. If we do not hear from you by Sunday, February 15th, we’ll assume you will be arranging your own transportation to and from the airport. When letting us know, please share: -Whether you're interested in the shuttle -Your arrival date/time (April 8, 9, or 10) -Your departure date/time (April 12 or 13) -Number of guests in your party Based on arrivals and departures, we’ll determine whether to use small, medium, or large shuttles, or, if arrivals/departures are staggered, coordinate larger bus shuttles running regularly to and from the airport. 👉 Shuttle Interest Form: https://doodle.com/group-poll/participate/epVBEV6b **note** it says New York Time Zone but we are booking times using Costa Rica Time Zone If you choose to take a private shuttle, taxi, or rental car we recommend booking it in advance. 👉 Interested in Booking Shuttle Yourself (Links Below): - 12 GO link: https://shorten.ly/bePxdQ - GET YOUR GUIDE link: https://shorten.ly/fEkK
Yes, we’ll be arranging shuttles to ensure guests arrive at the venue (Hotel Arenal Glamping) by 4:00 PM for a 4:30 PM ceremony start.
While we’d love to include everyone, due to our very small 45-person wedding, we’ll reach out to you directly if a plus-one is possible.
The wedding ceremony will take place at Arenal Glamping in the late afternoon. Ceremony time: 4:30 PM We’ll provide a shuttle from the hotel to the venue, so don’t worry about transportation! Please arrive at least 30 minutes early to ensure a smooth start.
Dress code: Semi-formal cocktail attire. Given the tropical climate, we recommend light fabrics and comfortable footwear. The ceremony and reception will be held outdoors, so flat shoes or wedges are a great choice. We also suggest you bring a light jacket or sweater in case the evening gets cool. Please keep in mind that heels may be difficult on grass.
Yes! The wedding reception will include a cocktail hour, dinner, followed by a dessert and drinks. We’ll have a selection of cocktails, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages available for guests. If you have any dietary restrictions, please inform us in advance so we can make accommodations.
Language: The official language in Costa Rica is Spanish, but most of the staff and vendors speak English. Currency: The Costa Rican colón is the official currency, but USD is widely accepted. It’s a good idea to bring some local currency for small purchases, though most places accept credit cards. Weather: April is generally dry, but the weather can be unpredictable in the rainforest. We recommend packing light rain gear just in case.
Clothing: Bring comfortable, lightweight clothing for daytime activities, but don’t forget a jacket or sweater for cooler evenings. For the wedding, please refer to the Attire Recommendations above. For the hot springs and waterfall, we suggest swimwear, flip-flops, and comfortable shoes. Other Essentials: Don’t forget sunscreen, bug spray, and comfortable walking shoes for activities like wildlife spotting or exploring the area. Rain gear might be useful as Costa Rica can have unexpected showers, especially in the rainforest.
