This place is great! During the day play a round of golf or visit the rain forest or world class aquarium (or any of the other family friendly attractions), and in the evening the view from 9th floor overlooking the bayou with a Galveston sunset is not to be missed.
Upscale Steakhouse at the local marina. Impeccable Service. Inside fine dining or they have a patio when the weather is nice with a few more bar bite options. The burger here and the burger at Mac-ie's are always neck and neck for the best burger. This is also where we went after the proposal - sunsets here can be incredible!
Tori says to go here for home country cookin' and brunch. Brett compares this place to an east coast diner. Whatever you like, this place is always a winner. There aren't too many places that serve mimosas, chicken friend steak, pot roast, mozzarella sticks, and crab cakes benedict for breakfast, which is one of the reasons this place rocks! Bonus points for Miller's having a view of the water.
One of the best, if not the best, burger on the island (Number 13 below is the other best burger). There aren't a lot of frills to it, but if you're struggling in the morning this is the place to go! In the same building is the Galveston Bagel Company which is pretty self explanatory, but their bagels rock (especially the pizza bagel)!
Downtown Galveston - there are shops, restaurants, bars, and galleries. Take advantage of open-container laws and walk around with a yardstick margarita or beer (***limited to post office street and the strand) All of the recommendations from here on out are in the vicinity of the Strand
