Our love story took its time to unfold, but we’ve learned that God’s timing is always perfect, and He brought us together exactly when it was meant to be. We first met during our freshman year at Americas High School—Victoria remembers Armando and his Justin Bieber-like haircut, and Armando remembers Victoria and her overly-ambitious glitter makeup. Life took us in different directions after sophomore year, with Armando moving to Miami and Victoria staying in El Paso. Armando went on to graduate from Westminster High School in Miami, while Victoria finished her time at Americas. Then, college took us even further apart—Armando attended the University of Alabama, and Victoria stayed closer to home at UTEP. Fast forward to 2017, Armando moved back to El Paso, but just as fate would have it, Victoria had packed her bags and headed to Michigan for law school that same year. It wasn’t until 2020—three years later—that we reunited for the first time. From that moment on, we have been inseparable. Armando’s proposal was another reflection of divine timing, a trilogy of life events that Victoria will always cherish. In May 2022, Victoria finally had her long-awaited law school graduation ceremony, which had been delayed due to the pandemic. Armando knew this was the perfect moment to propose and planned a trip to Michigan. On May 12th, we celebrated Victoria’s 27th birthday and visited Grand Rapids, Michigan. On May 13th, Victoria finally walked across the stage at Michigan State University College of Law. Then, on May 14th, with both of our families gathered all the way in Michigan, Armando proposed on an aisle lined with white rose petals, glowing candles, and lit-up signs that hinted at our future together. A year later, we bought our first home together and are now putting the final touches on our wedding plans.
