How we Met

It all started at the base

Surprisingly, we met at the base! I, at the time, was working at the gates and coincidently he had a jobsite there. He would come in everyday to see how the job was coming along and I would just scan his ID and tell him he was all set to go. One day he came through the gate per usual, but I had to search his vehicle this time; Little did we know this would spark our relationship. After that day, our short talks got longer every time he came in and I got to meet our love bug Storm. One day I decided I was just going to rip the band aid off and ask for his number and right before I could, one of his co-workers drove up to the gate and said, "my boss thinks you're cute". I was confused because at the time I didn't know Andy was the boss, so I asked who he was and he said "Andy, the one with the German Shepherd"; which led to my wise response of "oh, like Toy story Andy?" I then got ahold of his number through him, and the rest was history! Little did I know how Andy would flip my world upside down, be the greatest thing to enter my life, complete me, and be a pain in the butt! but I wouldn't change it for anything!

The Proposal

September 17th, 2020

He definitely got me by the element of surprise! He managed to hide asking my parents for their blessing, buying the ring, keeping the ring out of my sight, and the photographer. He tricked me into thinking we were going out to eat with friends in downtown Portsmouth, which I didn't think anything of it. He made me park SO FAR away from the place which I was questioning but convinced me he knew a quick way to walk there. We were walking through Prescott Park just enjoying our stroll like it was just an ordinary day. We got to the Memorial bridge, and he pointed across the water to show me a job he worked on to distract me from the photographer on the other side of the road. When I turned around, all I saw was him kneeling on the ground with a ring in his hand asking me to marry him. He'll tell you that I froze and didn't say a word! but I was just frozen with shock and excitement! I freaked out and said yes multiple times and of course, the water works started to come out!
