We first met when I was visiting College of Charleston and we were at a party that was taking place at Alex's house. I was staying with my sister in law, Elise, and she introduced me to Alex. We thought nothing of it at the time but we knew we liked each other. We both went our separate ways after this weekend but kept each other in the back of our minds. Flash forward to my sophomore year, Alex's senior year, at College of Charleston and we met each other again at a bar called Silver Dollar. We instantly felt a connection and the rest is history!

The proposal took place at Cypress Gardens the Sunday after my step sister, Ashley's, wedding. Alex had told me months in advance that his "friend" was proposing to his girlfriend that weekend and that we needed to be at Cypress Gardens the Sunday morning after the wedding to surprise them. I was slightly confused on why our presence was mandatory but after much kicking and screaming, Alex got me to the gardens that morning. Little did I know that he had an entirely elaborate scheme to propose to me and surprise me with an engagement party with all of our loved ones afterwards! It was truly the best day ever!
