How We Met

Vicoria's Side of The Story

I was on my way to a blind date when I bumped into my friend Caroline and her parents, who were talking to Tyler on the square in Carrollton. I was talking to Caroline about my upcoming date and completely oblivious to the fact that her dad was obviously trying to set me and Tyler up! So I went on my date but the next day, Tyler messaged Caroline to ask her what my name was because he couldn't remember, and, long story short, Caroline gave Tyler my number and he messaged me that day. He asked me to go on a date with him, and we ended up going on four dates that week! We were smitten from the very beginning and have been ever since.

How We Met

Tyler's Side of The Story

I was hanging out at the square in Carrollton with some friends from High School. I was chatting with Ed and Carol Hogan, when all of a sudden this girl walks up. I thought she was beautiful. But she did not notice me. Ed kept refering to her as Olivia as he made bold suggestions that she should go out with me instead of the guy she was meeting for the blind date that night. (He was right!) So, Ed said that if it didn't work out with that other guy, then I should take her out after. And on that note, I rejoined my friends and went about my night not giving it another thought. The next day, however, I couldn't get this "Olivia" girl off my mind. But I remembered that was not her real name. For the life of me, I could not remember her real name. So I asked Caroline, a mutual friend, who she was. She proceeded to convince me that I needed to ask for her number. Soooo... I did. I texted her, introduced myself again, and asked how her blind date went. She said it was fine, but that it wasn't going to go anywhere. So I asked her if maybe I could take her out sometime as Ed had suggested and she said yes! And the rest is history...

The Proposal

March 23, 2018

I (Tyler) had been planning this for a while...she had no idea. On our second date, we went to dinner at Olive Garden, drove to the top of the parking deck by the Amp in Carrollton, and we talked for hours sitting on the tailgate of my truck. Throughout the following year and a half, we both acknowleged that night as the time we were both sure that this would lead to something special. So I knew that on top of that parking deck is where I wanted to ask her to marry me. So on March 23, 2018, with the help of some friends, I was able to ask Victoria to marry me on top of that parking deck. And she said YES!
