Let me preface the story by saying, neither of us were interested in meeting our "forever" person, but things fell into place perfectly. That on its own is a beautiful thing. Vianey was a kindergarten teacher whose teaching assistant, Xamara, begged her to give a close friend of hers a chance at a date. She was adamant that they would click and consistently tried convincing Vianey about this nice, tall, nerdy boy she had to meet. But Vianey was not interested. She had just started graduate school and wanted to take a break from dating. Fortunately, her teaching assistant convinced her to add Victor on Instagram and she left it at that. Coincidently, Victor's niece, Addison, was in Vianey's kindergarten class. During a servant leadership school trip, Addison's mother noticed a Dragon Ball Z keychain on Vianey and went to go tell him that he needs to meet Ms. Salinas because she loves anime like him! Victor now had both Xamara and his sister-in-law telling him to meet Vianey. Their first initial conversation on Instagram messenger started when Victor wished Vianey a happy birthday. It was quiet after that.... Until Victor reacted to one of Vianey's photos and a conversation began. That conversation never stopped... Vianey and Victor started talking every day, mind you without having met. They began to notice they had similar interests, similar views of the world, and respect for one another. Still, Vianey was still adamant about staying friends and let him know that he should keep looking for his special someone. Victor respected her decision, but still, both knew there was something special forming. Three months later, summer vacation started and both set out on their trips. Vianey decided to make a rule, "Let's stop talking for a bit so we can enjoy our vacations with our family. It shouldn't be a problem since we are not an item". Victor, being the respectful person he is, agreed without hesitation even though he knew he would miss talking to her. Vianey reluctant to bring down her walls, thought she made a good decision. It was the best time to do it. She was going to be on a cruise with no access to the internet or phone signal. Vianey lasted one day....she jumped onto the ship's internet, which her cousin had purchased, and sent Victor a message. Victor, confused but relieved to hear from Vianey, had felt the same all along but wanted to respect her rule. The next part is still debated to this day. Vianey says she tricked Victor into asking her out on a date to see Spiderman and meet for the first time, but Victor insists he was the one who planned it. Regardless, Victor and Vianey finally met. After the movie, they spent five hours talking in Victor's car about anime, family, life goals, and more. This was the moment that Victor and Vianey realized the connection they had was too strong and beautiful to ignore. Victor still says that this was the moment he knew he would marry Vianey. And now here we are...
