We crossed paths while we were starting our careers in Utah. We were attending the same church and Victor confidently approached Florie and asked her to join him for coffee. After exploring the mountains in Utah for a season and dating for a bit, Florie felt unsettled in her season of life and decided to break things off. Victor was brokenhearted and prayed to God that the relationship would be rekindled if it was His will. In the mean time, Victor continued healing, bought a house, and stayed connected with friends and community in Utah while Florie moved to Virginia for a job that would allow her to be much closer to friends and family. While we were apart for several years, Florie would reach out and we would exchanged brief, periodic text messages (who could blame Victor for being hesitant?!) until April 2021 when Florie had several promptings to reach out to him. After suppressing this several times, her mother, Joanne, randomly asked about him. Following the promptings, Florie prayed that Victor would respond differently if they were meant to be together. So, Florie reached out "one last time" and Victor responded very differently...he suggested we catch up on the phone! Thankfully, that little phone call led to a year of long distance dating until Victor landed a job in Richmond, VA in March 2022...Virginia is for Lovers!
