We're getting married!!

Well, it all started at Live Life Church. We actually met about two months after the church started. Victor started playing drums at the church and I was singing on worship team. And we became acquaintances...maybe even friends. But we like to joke that in these early days we would leave the service as soon as church was over so there was never really much time to talk. But when we did speak during events, our conversations were always full of laughter.

If you ask anyone at church, they were counting down the days until we started dating. Apparently there were people asking our pastor about our dating status a whole year and a half before we even considered it. I guess everyone saw what we couldn't see...we thank God that they were right :)

It all started as a month long texting conversation in December 2022 that turned into a first date eating dumplings in late January 2023. Our conversations came so easily. It's like we could talk about anything and everything, and we did just that! And while it felt like everything was aligning, there were a series of no's that we went through before we were both ready to pursue a relationship. But those months of conversation and prayer from February through April really solidified for us both that we wanted to see what we could become together...and we are so grateful that we took this leap of faith.

We started dating in May 2023 and very quickly went through a few life events that not only brought us close to each other but also revealed our personalities and values to one another. Through patience, forgiveness, lots more communication, more forgiveness and most definitely God at the center of it all, we started to build a solid foundation. By the end of 2023, we were already talking wedding and what marriage would look like... scary stuff. Nevertheless, we both believed that God had brought us together and if it be His will, everything will continue to align for both of us. After much prayer, questions of when Victor would propose or if he was going to propose, help from close church friends and the Smith family, Victor proposed on January 28th in Seattle on the rooftop of Pier 66.
