We originally met in a Single Brits in the USA Facebook group. At one point we commented on one of the “Where does everybody live” posts and realized we were only about 45 minutes apart. After chatting for a while, we decided to meet at Twisted Tuna for dinner on March 13, 2020. This dinner was interrupted several times by first Natalie, wondering when I was coming home, and then Courtney telling us off, as Covid was getting serious in the hospital that she was working in. We had a lovely evening and neither of us thought the other was interested romantically. Then the next day, the world shut down with Covid….. During the restrictions and lockdowns many of us were feeling down and lonely so there was a group of us in the Single Brit page that started video chatting every Friday night at 8pm. Those chats soon turned into Saturdays and other days too. This became a lifeline for many of us and some solid friendships were formed. Len and I continued to chat within the group. December and the holidays came on us and during one of the calls, when everyone was talking about Christmas plans, Len said that he was dropping his boys off at 10am and was then going home alone. Knowing he had to drive within 1 mile of my house, I invited Len to join my family for Christmas. Len joined my family that day and it was a lovely, no pressure, holiday and everything went well with my family really liking him. On New Year’s Eve, Len called around 6pm and asked if I’d like to go out…. Well I would have loved to, but I had my kid's grandma staying and we had munchies and an evening with the kids planned, so I had to decline. It turned out that the kids all went to bed early and we all ended up on a Facebook chat and our core group of around 8 of us saw the New Year 2021 in together online. It took another week and Len again asked me out to dinner on January 8th and that was our official first date and our friendship grew and developed into what we have today. Since that first dinner, we have traveled home to England four times, we have sold 2 houses, suffered through Covid together (three times), bought a home, put on a substantial addition to that home, gone through three surgeries and recoveries, lost an income, and had time to get to know each other's children, families and friends. We have loved and supported each other through all these life challenges together and have only grown closer. We hope the next few years are not quite as challenging and we look forward to growing together, and spend as much time loving and laughing as we have in the last three years. Let our Adventure together begin....
