We met at a young adults bible study. I, Egan, walked up to Vicky after bible study and greeted her thinking she was new there, but it was actually me who was new, as she had been attending the church since she was a little girl. One young adults night at church, her and a friend walked up to me asking if I like food. I was about to leave when they stopped me in my tracks. But I answered them, and said, "Yes, I love food! Where are we going?" They invited me to eat out some day with them and two others from the young adults with an ulterior motive to do a prank on me. That day came, we had dinner, and no prank ended up happening. That same group of friends ended up going to multiple hang outs later on and I tagged along. Eventually, people from this friend group either moved out of state or stopped attending, and all of a sudden, it was just me and Vicky. The two of us kept hanging out and got close. From boba runs, lunches together, and going to the mall, we hung out almost four times a week for two months as friends. I found myself catching feelings for her and asked her out while we were at a local park waiting on a friend to join us. I told her that she didn't have to answer now and that she could think about it, and get back to me later. But she ended up just giving me an answer saying she wasn't quite ready to be in a new relationship, despite her having feelings for me as well. I respected this answer even though it stung a little bit. After a couple of days, she mentioned to me that she was ready. Part of the reason was that she needed to ask her parents for permission first. Long story short, they gave it and we ended up dating officially. Fast forward 3 years later from October 2022 when we became official, I proposed to her at DisneyWorld on a family trip to Orlando, Florida. It was one of the most nerve-wracking things I've ever done, from planning it to executing it with her family at our favorite park, EPCOT. I was glad that it turned out the way it was planned, because her reaction was the most genuine. She was so confused as to what was happening. She really had no idea that she was getting proposed to on that trip. We got to enjoy the rest of the vacation as an engaged couple. This was December 16, 2025, which meant that we also got to celebrate Christmas and New Year as a newly engaged couple. Now we're only a few months away from our wedding day and are very much looking forward to celebrating our special day at La Venta Inn with close friends and family.
