The Westin Cozumel

We have booked a block of all-inclusive rooms at the Westin Cozumel from 12/3 through 12/10. We will be checking in on 12/3; you can book for as few or as many days as you wish. 😃 The Westin Cozumel offers direct beach access, two beautiful pools, a spa and fitness center. The hotel is only 3 miles from the Cozumel airport and our wedding venue is right next door. Flight

Fly to Cozumel

This is the easiest way to get to the island of Cozumel. We typically fly American Airlines but there are more than a few airlines who fly direct to Cozumel. As for pricing, we have found flights as low as $400 per person, round-trip. Currently, airfare seems to be averaging around $500 per person, round-trip. Again, we have visited Cozumel more than a few times. For a relatively stress-free travel day, we recommend booking your flight to Cozumel versus the below option of flying to Cancun.

Fly to Cancun

Flying to Cancun will require you to take a ferry over to the island of Cozumel. This option can save you money but your travel day will include an hour ride from Cancun airport to the Playa del Carmen ferry terminal (taxi $45 per person) and then another hour ferry ride over to Cozumel. There are more nonstop flight options to Cancun than Cozumel however, so if you don't mind taking the ferry, you can save and avoid a flight layover. Again, we do not recommend this option especially if you have mobility issues; you will have to get your luggage through a couple side streets to the ferry terminal because taxis cannot drop off directly in front. ULTRAMAR FERRY 🚢 🌊 The ferry terminal is in Playa del Carmen. The cost of a round trip ticket is $31 per person. Please use the below link to see ferry times. Plan to be at the ferry terminal 45 minutes prior to the scheduled departure to get in the boarding line. They will take your luggage upon boarding. The ride itself can be pretty, but we have also experienced rougher seas. We recommend sitting in the lower level. There are drinks and snacks available on the ferry as well as restrooms. Upon exiting the ferry, you will need to get in a line to retrieve your bags. Follow the crowd to exit the terminal and head to the main road. Once there, a taxi stand will be on your left. Get a taxi to the Westin Cozumel ($10 per person).

Travel Note

Airport Transfers

The easiest way to get from Cozumel airport to the Westin Cozumel is by shuttle. After getting your luggage, walk past the various salespeople and to the Cozumel shuttle booth right before the exit (one on the right). Their transfers are about $10 per person. If you are landing at the Cancun airport, you can take a taxi or shuttle from the airport to the Ultramar ferry terminal. Either option will typically cost about $75 per person to the ferry terminal in Playa del Carmen. Happy Shuttle comes highly recommended as a private shuttle you can book in advance.
