The Wedding Plan
The Groom hails from the Maharashtra region of Western India. The traditional wedding ceremony from this region has many rituals as follows:
MEHNDI: Mehndi, otherwise known as henna, is a paste associated with positive spirits and good luck. Indian Wedding tradition calls for a Mehndi ceremony to be held before the wedding as a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity as she makes her journey on to marriage.
SAKHARPUDA ---------------------------------THE ENGAGEMENT (Feb 26th)
HALDI: A pre-wedding ceremony during which bride and groom are applied with a turmeric paste. The application of Haldi ensures that both bride and the groom have radiant and glowing skin on their wedding day.
LAGNA--------------------------------------THE WEDDING (Feb 27th)
VARAT: The Varat symbolically refers to the procession that sees the bride off from her paternal home to her husband’s home.
GRIHAPRAVESH: First steps of the Bride in her new home.
AND THEY LIVE HAPPILY EVER AFTER !!!
